Last year was so much of a whirlwind (seven conferences and workshops, work on several research articles and white papers; preparing a science outreach comic book storyboard, a new anthology, an audio drama…) that I barely ever got to pause for a moment and report on it, and updating my website is long overdue. For now, here’s a taste of what’s coming in 2025.
BEACON: I’ll most likely be at the European Astrobiology Institute’s conference in Iceland in early July. Abstract deadline is on February 15; if you have relevant work to share, don’t hesitate to submit an abstract!
Worldcon: In mid-August, you can meet me at the World Science Fiction Convention in Seattle. I’m currently working on a new English-language anthology of Czech speculative fiction to launch there; stay tuned for more!
Comic book: Last year I wrote a storyboard for an educational comic book on nanotechnology, Secrets of The Nano- World, which has been drawn brilliantly by the artist Vojtěch Šeda and consulted by our science advisor, physicist Prokop Hapala. It’s coming soon at the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences in both Czech and English!

Audio drama: The podcast and audiobook portal Audiotéka is preparing an audio drama Mars Fever based on my script, which has been loosely inspired by my earlier eponymous story. This adaptation is going to be in Czech only, alas, but I’m open to translations!
Besides this, I’m co-authoring screenplays for a new SF technothriller miniseries, but can’t share much more at this point, and editing a physics outreach anthology in Czech to be released at the Academy of Sciences’ Science Fair in June. I’ll also be working on new translations, and I have several research projects under evaluation. That, and a novel, new science art proposals…
I’ll let the whirlwind whirl and report back soon.
